Every child grows up with a dream. Some of these dreams are loftier than others. Some dreams are highly possible while some dreams may appear impossible. But the bottom line is, people do have dreams. But they differ in that some people are willing to pursue their dreams while there are others who do not. Some people simply savor their dreams without working for their fulfillment.nnDoubtless, you have your own dreams. What have you done so far in achieving them? Are you living your dreams now?nnIf your answer is “no”, then you should ask yourself why. Perhaps you have been trying to wait for the right time or you have been afraid to commit mistakes along the way. If you have this attitude, then you might never achieve those precious dreams. Fear is probably the number one deterrent for dreamers. People fear that their efforts might not be enough for them to achieve their dreams. They fear failure.nnAre you afraid to pursue your dreams? Perhaps you need to have a soul-searching so that you can understand what it is that bothers you. This soul-searching also helps you clarify your deep-seated dreams and goals and enables you to list down your fears so that you can more easily deal with them. When you name your fears, you can deal with them.nnThe first step in achieving your dreams is to truly clarify what your dreams are. This is the key to understanding your purpose in life and what can give you meaning. You have to acknowledge first what your dreams are. If you have ambitions and goals, then you need to take these into account. However, your dream is greater than merely your ambitions.nnAfter identifying and acknowledging your dreams, you need to understand what it will take for you to achieve those dreams. Do you have to let go of some things that you have now? Do you have to invest on your skills and your talents? In doing so, you are not hitting on empty air; you actually perceive the cost of achieving your dreams.nnIt is free to dream. But for you to achieve those dreams, you need to take note that there are costs. Depending on the nature of your dream, your dreams may be a little costly. You should take courage and be willing to risk yourself in achieving your dreams. Through this, you can be sure to find meaning and purpose in your life.
