I'm Not Crazy. I'm Just Not You!

Has anyone ever told you that you were crazy for trying something or thinking something, or even doing something? What they are really saying is that what you are doing is something they would never do, therefore it must be crazy. Not true. It simply doesn't work for them. They are merely sharing their fears and limitations with you.

I have been told many times in my life that I was crazy. I was told I was crazy for leaving my secure corporate job. The truth is I would have been crazy for staying. The people that told me how crazy I was simply were afraid to leave themselves. It didn't have anything to do with me.

My friend Margo climbs mountains. For me that would be pretty crazy, for Margo it makes perfect sense. It works for her, it would never work for me. The great thing is I can accept and encourage her for living her dream and not be threatened by it.

The one thing I do know is what other people do doesn't say anything about me. It doesn't make me a better or lesser person. So I can support them where they are without feeling anything but good for them. I don't have to think they are crazy for doing things that I would never do. I can just accept that they are different and unique in their own special way, just like me.

You are not crazy. You are just you. Don't listen to what other people say about you and what you are doing. If it works for you then do it. Just remember Coach Lee's life rule, "Do whatever you want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone."

Daily Success Formula:

Surpressing dreams + Living by other people's rules + Worrying about what others think = Being Crazy
