When I’m feeling a little low or under the weather, there’s one thing I know will be a sure pick-me-up – besides chocolate – a walk and cafe latte date with my girlfriend, Becky.

What I love about Becky is that she’s like me, only taller, with better skin. She likes to be active and on the go. She doesn’t think spending time with a friend has be a long sit-down dinner and dessert affair at a restaurant (not that there’s anything wrong with that), but being social and physically active can go hand-in-hand.

You get those feel-good endorphins flowing that come with boosting your heart rate and the feeling of being connected to a friend, your social support. We know that having a strong social network is important for our health and happiness. We also know that exercise keeps our bodies strong and mobile. Walking with a friend is really killing those two birds with one stone.
