BUILDING TRUST IN YOUR LIFE

Without trust, you can't be willing to sacrifice, cooperate or commit yourself. You want to be appreciated for what you contribute. Building respect for individual differences, where one person can relate to another's interest - even when they disagree - is paramount to developing a respectful relationship. If a person doesn't feel that his or her role is valued, then a level of trust will not exist. This kind of trust can weather changes in goals or events because it is based on mutual understanding and that is where real power and synergy come from.

So, what are some steps in which you can take responsibility for building more trust in yourself.? I believe a major point, and one of the most difficult, is having faith in yourself. Belief that you can handle anything that comes your way and trusting your deep instinct that you can make it work is so powerful. While I mentally know this to be true, I tend to procrastinate doing new things out of fear that maybe I've taken on more tha
I can handle. Once I dive in though, I find it generally works out fine. Besides, worrying never solves anything and certainly doesn't get a project done any easier or faster.

Another way to build trust between you and others is to reveal more of yourself which makes others feel more comfortable. As a result, they will often open up more and let you into their "space." Yes, it can be dangerous to place yourself in a more vulnerable position. The risk is often worth the reward though - right? When you keep out the potential bad in life you may also keep out the good.

Forgive the people you believe have misused your trust. No, this isn't easy but spending your time and energy on this negative path is not going to change what already happened. Not being able to forgive generally poisons your own life far more than the person who injured you. They generally move on with little or no regard for what they caused to occur in your life. Letting go of past hurts and living today and lets you more easily bring goodness and trust back into your life for a better tomorrow.

Expect that people will surprise you and sometimes misuse your trust. Sure, you may be hurt and disappointed at some actions, but then again you may find that a better future ensues because of it. This isn't always the case, as with my friend. Very unfortunate and in some cases deceitful actions have been brought against him that have had a disastrous effect on his life. But he is resilient and I have faith in his inner strength that he will move past the bitte
ess and again find pleasure in life.

You will have so much more power and freedom when you put your trust out to the world and have faith that most of the time it will be returned in a positive manner. Having the attitude that puts a stronger emphasis on the positive means putting yourself in the position of responding and reacting to life's happenings in an open-minded and open-hearted way versus one emanating from fear or anger.

According to Deborah Brown, a personal coach and motivational speaker (www.surpassyourdreams.com ), "Trust is letting go of an outcome. It is choosing to believe that your goals and dreams can come true if you trust that they will. Trust is being free and letting life happen even if you are afraid of the future. What would your life be like if only you could trust a little more?"

Trusting, believing in, and acting upon your abilities, talents, and goodness will encourage others to treat you in the same respectful and friendly manner. Imagine how much more effective, energetic, and enthusiastically your life will be with those attributes working for you. nnn

I have a new cell phone. I didn’t want a new cell phone; I was perfectly happy with my 2020 cell phone, but it wasn’t happy with me. Its connector charging port was ailing. Failing, actually, the service tech told me. And besides, it was an old phone, what did I expect? Old? This to a woman who is more than content, read “thrilled,” to wear outdated fashions just because she likes them. And would willingly keep computers way past their supposed “shelf life.” Sigh. OK, fine,
