Remove a Skin Tag - Simple Methods That Works Well

To remove a skin tag you really don't need surgery or expensive over the counter products. In fact, there are several methods that work really well and can help you to get rid of skin tags without leaving scars on your skin or your wallet. Tags and other skin imperfections can be a source of embarrassment and although it does not pose any health risks it does affect your self esteem to a great extent. There are a lot of methods to remove a skin tag but not all of them work the same for everyone. We all have different skin and our tags are different. This method is called the "dental floss method" and the way it works is that it "kills" the tag by cutting the blood supply to it. Tags are basically a loose piece of skin attached to your skin with a little "root" at the base. This is how blood gets to it and its what keeps it alive. If you cut the blood flow, then the tag will die and fall off. Although some people suggest you cut your tags off with a small scissor I would not recommend that. Here's how you can use this method: Simply take a piece of dental floss and tie it firmly around the base of the tag as close to your skin as possible. You need to tie it tight enough to cut the blood supply but don't tie it so tight that it becomes painful. Also, if it starts bleeding or feels uncomfortable you need to remove it immediately. Usually after 2 or 3 days the tag will start to die and fall off. If it hasn't come off after a couple of days, be sure to remove the dental floss and apply a fresh one. If you have large areas of skin that's affected by this skin condition then this method is probably not ideal for you. Also, if you have very flat tags, then you will have to try some other methods since you won't be able to get to the base to tie the string around. Skin tags are not cancerous but infection can set in if you don't take care. This method only works well with tags that are loose and hinging on your skin. Don't despair if you have an uncontrollable skin condition. You can always speak to your doctor about the options available to you. You don't have to go under the knife to remove a skin tag!
