I often hear online business entrepreneurs complaining about all the trouble they are having. To the point that they are ready to quit. Everyone feels like that every now and then, but you have to resist the temptation to get caught up in that. There is a difference between those who get past that and those who don't. It's called persistence. One of the essential components to any successful entrepreneur's mindset is persistence. It's not smarts, skills, connections, experience, sure those things help, but the key is to insist on being persistence. You see, persistence is the ability to keep going. It insures that obstacles will not keep you down. Persistence is what will pick you back up when you fall. When failures occur (which they will) they won't deter you from achieving the objective, from accomplishing your goals. 97% of people that start online businesses fail. They don't persist. The get discouraged by little things that don't matter. Do you think that Kobe Bryant would have stopped shooting after he missed a shot in the NBA playoffs? Do you think Tiger Woods would have stopped swinging after he drove his ball into the rough? No. Why? Because these guys are persistent. Persistence is the difference between good and great. Persistence is the difference between succumbing and overcoming. Persistence is the difference between success and failure. Imagine if America's founding father's would not have persisted Where would this world be right now? Would there be a United States? They didn't give up. They had the persistence it took to stand up for independence. The good thing is... As Napoleon Hill states in his book Think and Grow Rich, "Persistence is a state of mind, therefore it can be cultivated." He goes on to state that there are four necessary steps to develop persistence: 1) A Definite Purpose, 2) A Definite Plan, 3) A Strong Mind, 4) A Friendly Alliance. The definition of persistence is simple: continued existence or occurrence You have to have a continued existence towards success for your business. Imagine that nothing negative affected you. That if you experienced a setback, it wouldn't phase you one bit. You wouldn't think about it, you wouldn't complain, you would move forward, business as usual. In fact, you would even take that experience and apply the lesson learned toward your business to gain from it. That is persistence. Next time you experience a setback in your business, ask yourself "Am I being persistent?". Am I overcoming this setback and resisting to succumbing to it? Am I insisting to learn from this or am I just getting discouraged? If you are not overcoming or not learning, work on developing your persistence so you can make your business successful. You won't regret it!
