Facial toners are an important part of any skincare regimen. Though some skin experts suggest toning shouldn’t be mandatory and are only suitable for oily skin types, most people still regard it as an essential factor in keeping the skin beautiful. Most toning products sold today are expensive, if not ineffective. If you have tried every skin toning creams and still didn’t get the result you want, you can switch to using homemade toners instead.

There are many benefits to toning the skin. Aside from giving you fresh looking skin for long periods of time, it can also help remove soap residue that makes your skin feel greasy. Toning can also help close and tighten pores so that it would be impossible for dirt to get clogged inside them. It’s very simple to produce your own facial toner at home, and what’s more exciting is that it won’t cost you much than if you go and buy a commercially made toner.

Some ingredients used for homemade facial toners contain high acid level. For people with dry skin or sensitive skin, this is not a good idea. Other ingredients you should stay away from if your skin is the sensitive type are apple cider vinegar and alcohol. These substances can easily damage your skin when not used properly. On the other hand, you can use rosewater since experts claim that it is suitable for any type of skin.

Rosewater has been used for ages now, most especially in treating various skin conditions. Because of that, you will often find it in skincare products sold commercially. Rosewater acts as a natural cleanser, thanks to its antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It’s also gentle on the skin, which means you won’t have to worry about skin irritations when using it. What’s more, rosewater has a pleasant smell, which some people use to calm their nerves.

If you want to make rosewater facial toner at home, you’ll need to gather a few rose petals. You’ll also need ½ cup of hazel and some glycerin. Heat a saucepan and add 2 cups of water in it together with the rose petals. Bring the mixture to a simmer on very low heat and take it out to cool after a few minutes. Next, place the mixture into a small bowl and add to it the other ingredients. If you’re having problems with dry skin, just add a few more drops of glycerin. If your problem is oily skin, add more hazel instead.

When your rosewater toner is ready, apply it directly to your face using your fingers. Leave the toner for less than a minute and rinse it off gently with water. Since rosewater has antibacterial properties, it will not only leave your skin fresh and smooth, but it will also get rid of any acne problem that you have. Other benefits of using rosewater include treatment of sunbu
and getting rid of wrinkles. In case you have any doubts about using rosewater, talk to your doctor to find out more about this homemade remedy.
