JUST A THOUGHT...

Few of us are the power-marketer who could sell snow-cones to Eskimos. But, we want to be so we can build a huge pile of a business! And most of us have a lifelong pent-up demand for freedom and success that, once we find NM, we want it all right now! Then, we fumble around trying to figure out how to make snow cones, how to get to where the Eskimos are, how to become an Eskimo so they'll like us and want to buy our snow cones.

But we haven't gone inside where the seeds of success germinate and done the transforming work that has to be done first before it can flow to our outward behaviors and actions and enable us to be the Snow-Cone King or Queen that we want to be!

Lately, I've been fumbling around in that place inside me where the seeds of success germinate. I've thought, what am I doing? This has nothing to do with NM business. But I realized that, as my business partner, Sue Seward said in her first speech at the convention, it's about our own VISION, and what is vision but a series of thoughts.

The other day, one of my associates emailed me and signed it "Just a thought..." That began ricocheting around inside of me - JUST A THOUGHT! - the way we think is the language we use to talk to ourselves. It's beyond mere words, it's images and impressions formed by our life's experiences and these ping-pong around in the computer of our brain where the seeds of success germinate.

Just as we are what we eat, we are what we think!

I realized how I need to apply to my business the same principles I used in my 1.5 year-long effort to quit smoking!

My 1st attempt was so scary, I was panicked! I can't do this! I'll fail! I can't take being so uncomfortable when my body goes through nicotine withdrawal! I won't be able to do it. I'm not strong enough. I'm weak. Besides, deep down, I didn't really want to stop.

Yes, I did fail the 1st time, the 2nd time, the 3rd time, the 4th time...then I quit counting...but, I learned something each time, a new tactic to try the next time. I was better equipped each time I tried again. One day I realized I was no longer thinking of myself as a smoker, even though I was still smoking! I just wasn't a smoker anymore.

And it was the very next attempt that I finally made it. I just didn't smoke anymore. I made it through the initial stages by trying, failing, assessing, learning, adjusting my approach. I'm convinced I succeeded at this very difficult thing because I changed the way I thought of myself. My paradigm shifted.

Success finally starts to happen when we go to that inner place where the seeds of success germinate, and we stay there awhile, and are willing to dig around, root up whatever weeds are there, do the work. Because if we keep at it, one day we are something new.

You might be one of the lucky ones who experiences an instant paradigm shift. Not me! For some reason, I have to SUFFER. Regardless, once your thinking shifts, your outward actions will follow.

Some of you might say I've lost not only a dangerous habit and some weight, but my mind too! Maybe so - but this NM business is wonderful because we can craft it to be whatever it needs to be, for us. All by thinking your way to success.
