Humans are gifted. We are not born in a comma. Our brains are meant to function. But most of all, each is endowed with unique talents that are so ours. Many are crafted aesthetically yet there are few who will make it as best of Asian arts. Talents and intelligence may be common to all but there is one that is excellent in each that makes our gifts unique from the rest.

Our talents, gifts, and as to how our brains are tapped to function should be exercised from early age onwards. Many have tapped theirs late and lost tons of opportunity to let it flow to their own personal advantage. However in some few cases, achievers do not see the blessing of achieving at all when it becomes a normal daily occurrence. Children who start hoarding gold medals and champion trophies from early age onwards do not see the valuable gifts they possess because excellence is not anymore deemed as part of winning but more of a hobby like watching TV. And this means that what they have, for them, is something not remarkable to brag about or to take pride of. Most of the time, they are seen as humble when the real deal is they do not have any idea at all of humility because they see not a thing to brag about.

The aforementioned is the reason behind we see many big figures falling into depression. Contrary to other’s perception that fame and popularity became an addiction to many, it is not. Most of the time, they do not see themselves as artworks for sale that people look up to. They just act as themselves. It just so happens that themselves are the big figures in the society. The logic behind such situation is that the brilliant gift that they possess is not anymore perceived as unusual and something to be grateful about. It becomes a part of who they are. Simply put if what is excellent in a person remains hidden to his or her own self, then less is the chance that the smaller brilliance in one’s own life is seen, which we can come up to a conclusion of seeing oneself as worthless.
Many theories are derived as to why big stars fall into depression. One negative accusation that is usually thrown by many to this kind is the total embrace to fame which loosening from it would entail a great deal of valor. Definitely, not true! But then God has a way to put everything back in place and to make us rise from depression. Must be easy because depression itself is God’s way to restore what we once had and finally learn to appreciate them. This way, He makes us realize the value

He puts in us that had not been acknowledged as a wonderful gift for so long only because it has already been a part of us just as how our love, our sweetness, and our devotion was taken for granted by the people we were once with which prompted us to withdraw ourselves from them and which also leads us to appreciation of our own selves for the first time or back again. And when we come to think of it is another God’s way of showing us the best gift. And this time, it is what we see when we look at the mirror.
