A Spiritual Seeker Needs a Master who has the Right Knowledge to GuidernMaster is the Guide! Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, an enlightened being explains:rnIf you want to go to the station from here and get lost on the way, will you not have to ask someone for help? Whom would you ask? The one that knows the way is a Guru (a Master). If along the way, you encounter someone who knows the way, then you will reach the station quickly, will you not?rnMaster is One who is Familiar with the PathrnWithout a master, man cannot progress. A seeker cannot walk the spiritual path without someone who is already familiar with that path. One who is familiar can guide the seeker! We need someone to tell us and show us our mistakes, don’t we? rnFor instance, if a man has taken the road going in the opposite direction, is he likely to reach the station if he keeps going in that wrong direction? No matter how much he roams, he will not be able to find the station. The night would fall and the other day would rise, but one would still not find the station. Such is the confusion without the right master. When the Seeker finds an Experienced Guide, He will not have ProblemsrnIf the Masters themselves do not know the way, what will happen? rnIt’s like if a blind person leading another blind person. Where will they both end up? When the seeker finds the experienced guide, in addition to showing him the station, the Master will also tell him which train to take. He will show you everything and your task would be completed fine. The experienced Master takes you to the final destination. But if the Master himself is lost, he will make his follower wander life after life. So, keep exploring until you find the truly experienced guide who can directly take you to your ultimate destination of the absolute truth, without having to wander around aimlessly. rnNevertheless, it is a Huge Mistake to Judge the MasterrnParam Pujya Dadashri advises:rnIf the Master is wiser than you are and he takes care of you; you have faith in him, you feel at peace there and your heart accepts him; then establish him as your Master and stay with him. Even if he has a few shortcomings, tolerate them. When you yourself are full of so many faults and he has just a few, why to judge him? He is higher than you are, and therefore he will take you higher. A truly experienced Master will immediately show you the way. Nothing will be pending; you will see instant results. The Knowledge of the Absolute Truth is Attained through Samyak Darshan rnSamyak darshan means the right vision! Presently, our vision is deluded by the ego. Ego means wrong belief. So, anything seen through the medium of ego is bound to be maligned, isn’t it? One who is able to change our vision from the wrong to right, such Master is the Enlightened One (Gnani). Would you not know whether there has been a change in the way you see things, after having met the Master? So, look for a living Gnani, the Enlightened One, who is well-equipped with the spiritual power to help you attain Self-Realization (Samyak darshan)! Egoism can be Stopped only through such Living MasterrnWhosever’s swachhand (an act guided by one’s own ego) has ceased, will attain moksha. Otherwise, moksha cannot be attained. Until you attain samyak darshan - the enlightened view, right vision - your swachhand will not leave. That is why it is said that you should not be without a sajeevan murti (an awakened being, the living Gnani). Thus find yourself a living Gnani and Sit in His CompanyrnWithout a living Master, nothing can be attained. Everything will be futile. Those who have departed will not return to show us our mistakes. Only the living Master can show us our faults on the spiritual path, so that we can remove them and experience the absolute truth. Therefore, Krupadudev Shrimad Rajchandra has said, “Sajeevan murti na laksha vagar jey kai pan karvama avey chhe tey jiva ney bandhan chhe.rnAa amaru hridaya chhe.”rnmeaningrn“Without your exclusive focus on the living Gnani, whatever you do will bind you. These words represent my heart.”rnThis one sentence explains everything! rnWithout the living Gnani, whatever you do is swachhand (an act guided by one’s own ego). The person that moves ahead on his own will and understanding will never attain moksha because there is no one above him to point out his mistakes. Swachhand can only be prevented in the presence of a living Master, not otherwise. To know more:https://www.dadabhagwan.org/self-realization/
