Does Mirena IUD interact with other medicines?rnMirena IUD may interact with other medicines. You should inform your doctor if you are using any of the below mentioned medicines like topiramate, Azole antifungals, tetracyclines, barbiturates, St. John's wort, bosentan, rifampin, carbamazepine, penicillins, felbamate, nevirapine, griseofulvin, modafinil, warfarin, metoprolol, insulin, theophylline, Lamotrigine and HIV protease inhibitors because it may reduce the effectiveness of Mirena IUD and can lead to serious side effects. Can I use Mirena IUD more than 5 years?rnIt is always recommended that Mirena IUD should be used for maximum 5 years. You need to change it after the span of 5 years. What are the side effects of Mirena IUD?rnMirena IUD has some common to serious side effects. These common side effects are Changed menstrual cycle, Feeling giddy, Increase in body weight, Pain in the breasts, Pimples, Feeling of vomit, lessened interest in sex, Softening of the breasts and Pain in the back and some serious side effects are Mood swings, Pain while having sex, Increased menstrual cramps, Passing out, Discharge from vagina, Reddening of the skin, Angina, formation of lumps on breasts, Increase in body temperature, Jaundice, Unconsciousnes, Breathlessness and Rashes on the skin. If you observe any sign of above mentioned side effects in you consult your doctor as soon as possible. Where this medicine should be stored?rnMirena IUD should be store at room temperature at 25 degree C. Keep Mirena IUD in dry place away from light, heat and moisture. Keep this medication in tightly closed container it comes in. You should keep Mirena IUD away from children. Do not use any medication if not in use.
