You can win the battle against gambling.
Everyday hundreds of people do just that.

This article will outline the seven characteristics most recovered gamblers share in common.

First, nearly all recovered gamblers reached out for help for their gambling.
They enlisted in a recovery program & or treatment to beat their gambling addiction. Programs such as Gamblers Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery, & other programs designed specifically for gamblers is of great help.
Other forms of help come from individual therapy, inpatient treatment centers, and life coaching.

Second, most recovered gamblers received 1 on 1 help from a knowledgeable source.
This can be accomplished through treatment sessions from a therapist trained to treat compulsive gamblers, GA sponsors, & life coaches who've recovered from gambling themselves.

Third, most recovered gamblers attend group meetings at least once a week and more when needed. Meetings like Gamblers Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery as well as online meetings really make a difference.

Fourth, recovered gamblers learned to control & weaken the obsessive thoughts to gamble. There are certain techniqiues to prevent, control, & eliminate thoughts to gamble, & those who've recovered have virtually eliminated their obsessive thoughts to gamble.

Fifth, most recovered gamblers have learned to resist, manage, & weaken their urges to gamble. They've learned & implemented the necessary methods and techniques to manage and eliminate their urges to gamble.

Sixth, most recovering gamblers have resources to refer to on hand at all times.
They recognize that sometimes a thought or urge to gamble can come unannounced.
By having some literature to read or a friend or coach's phone number to call, they improve their chances of beating gambling one day at a time.

Last, nearly all recovered gamblers realize that staying gamble free requires continued effort. Much like preventing cavities & keeping a nice lawn, remaining gamble free requires routine maintenance for long lasting results.

Most importantly, gamblers who recover never give up. They keep trying to beat gambmling UNTIL they succeed. And, they very very seldom do so on their own.
They realize that an obsession to gamble is very strong. And in order to overcome it they enlist the help of others, gain knowledge on how to beat their gambling problem, & make the necessary changes in their lives.

I am a former compulsive gambler, proof that these methods (as well as many others) do work. There are thousands more people just like me. We used to struggle with our gambling, but not anymore. Many of us never thought we'd beat our addiction to gambling, but thankfully we were wrong.
We are living, breathing proof you too can overcome your gambling just like we did.
