The Coeliac Society

The coeliac society supports people who have been diagnosed with coeliac disease. The coeliac society has a number of suggestions and information for coeliac sufferers. The coeliac society has a quarterly magazine that is available for its members with articles of interest, recipe ideas, dining information and a childrens section. The coeliac society website allows viewers to access information for gluten free diets, publications that are beneficial for celiacs and a list of endorsed products the celiac society recommend. This includes products, foods and magazines. The Coeliac society members are given the option of recommending restaurants for other coeliac sufferers on the website under the Restaurant page.rnThe website is packed with lots of informative information for its visitors including updates on articles, a quarterly magazine and lots of information on gluten free eating in your particular state or territory. The coeliac society also has a fund established to help research into this under researched and under diagnosed disease. Individual memberships are available through your state branch. To become a member of the coeliac society you must be: diagnosed with coeliac diseaserndiagnosed with dermatitis herpetiformisrndiagnosed as requiring a gluten free diet A letter from a registered medical practitioner to verify one of the above is required for membership. The coeliac society also has a page for sponsors where it will endorse particular products and brands given they pass the strict guidelines. Websites are not currently endorsed because of the nature of the content changing constantly and the coeliac society would need to constantly review material that is uploaded to websites. It is for this reason the coeliac society doesn’t endorse websites. Support groups have been set up throughout throughout the States and Territories. Coeliac Awareness Week is held each year in March.
