The Scourge of Fake and Tampered IDs

Having a fake ID may sound like such a cool idea especially to an underage kid trying to fit in and do grown-up things. It may seem like it's no big deal because everyone's doing it but the truth is, it's not as harmless as you think.
Sure, a fake ID may allow you access to clubs and bars, be able to drink and party. However, every action has its own consequences. Here are just some of the main reasons why you shouldn't get one.

It can cause identity theft.
When you purchase fake IDs, especially online, you will most likely be asked to fill up a form and use a debit or credit card to pay. The information you provide can be at risk of being used for something else and have your identity stolen.
Also, sometimes you could be given another person's legitimate ID but with your photo on it. That's tantamount to you stealing his or her identity.
Fake IDs are expensive.
Rates may vary depending on where you obtain one and the quality of the ID but the average price range can be anywhere from $100 - $200. This purchase is not even worth it considering it's something you'll probably use only a year or two before you reach the legal age of 21. That's assuming you don't get caught.
It can be dangerous.
If you use your fake ID to get drunk, it could cause accidents that can harm you and others as well. Plus, getting caught with one can land you a misdemeanor charge, which will put you on probation aside from being fined. Worse, it can even land you in jail.
Knowing all these possible consequences, getting a fake ID is not really worth it. So, just don't get one.
