Question:nn I have another question. Tree of Knowledge in Christianity: So Adam and Eve symbolically eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge and then they saw they were naked. Since I was a young girl I have been searching for Truth. I equate truth with knowledge. Then this new thought came to me yesterday... we ate from the Tree of Knowledge. So, does this mean that there is something even larger beyond the Tree of Knowledge? That knowledge (concrete truth of being) is only an aspect of who our Creator is or who we are?n nAnswer:n nIf I was to interpret the story of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, I would say it represents objective knowledge – the dualistic, sensory knowledge in which we become identified with the object of perception. This is object-referral consciousness which seemingly imprisons unlimited awareness into the ever-changing objects of our perception. It is basically a mistaken understanding of who we are. We are mistaking objective knowledge for our self.n nIn contrast to this knowledge, there is self-referral knowledge, which is based on a true cognition of our essential nature. With self-referral awareness we know and perceive everything in terms of the infinite, non-local nature of our consciousness. This type of knowledge liberates, empowers and brings joy. The state of attunement with all of Nature is represented by in the story by the life in Eden where life is happy, easy and beautiful. It’s interesting to consider that once they had eaten of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they were then ineligible to eat of the Tree of Life in Eden which gives immortality.n nLove,nDeepak
