Just like everything else in this world positive affirmations also can be negated by mistakes. These mistakes keep people from accomplishing their goals when using positive affirmations.

Whether you are already using positive affirmations and not getting results, or plan on using them, here are the top 5 mistakes that can be made. This way you can avoid making them and get the results you deserve.

1. Having an Ulterior Motive

Being unclear as to WHY you want something. Affirmations are not designed to prove anything. If you are trying to prove something to someone else, you have lost the purpose of the affirmation. Before you affirm a thing, be absolutely sure why you want it and what it would mean if it manifested for you.

2. Lack of Convictio

Lack of conviction in the affirmation. This is usually due to a misalignment of the beliefs and the affirmation. If you affirm yourself to do something, your need to believe in your ability to do what needs to be done to achieve it.

For instance, if you affirm yourself to find love, you need to believe that you are attractive enough to achieve it. Otherwise, you will keep negative affirming unwittingly.

3. Being Too Pushy

Positive affirmations work at their own pace. While you can better yourself to attract better things. It's not a good idea to try to force your affirmations into being. Be Patient, and it will come to you when it's the right time.

4. It's a Natural Act

If you try to figure out how manifestation is going to happen you are just going to upset the natural balance of it all. This goes along with #3. Don't be pushy. Let nature, and the positive energies from your affirmations bring you what you want when its time to get them.

5. Missing Your Opportunity

Not recognizing the manifestation when it occurs. This is a BIG killer of affirmations. Say you affirmed something and had all the things right in line. You waited and it came to you in a form you didn't like.

So what do you do? You deny the manifestation and keep affirming it. Just because you don't like the way it looks doesn't mean it isn't as good as or better than the thing you originally wanted.

When you are using positive affirmations it is crucial that you have a strong belief and a powerful sense of self-confidence for these to work for you. Even if you affirm your positivity everyday, they won't work without those two key components.

In fact they may even have an opposite affect since your subconscious doesn't believe in them and therefore sees them as a lie.

By believing in yourself, you are telling your subconscious that you can achieve the affirmation. Your subconscious is programmable and will begin to see things as though they have already occurred. Then the events leading to the true manifestation can begin to take shape and positive, forward motion is achieved.

One last mistake people will make with affirmations: assuming that the physical world around them will change drastically. WRONG!

The only thing you change is what is inside of you. That is where the affirmation begins to manifest and can be born into being. It all begins on the inside!
