The tradition of celebrating teacher’s day is quite old custom. This occasion is observed on different days in different countries respectively. In India it is celebrated on 5th September whereas in UK it is marked on 10th September. In some of the Asian countries like Japan & Thailand it is celebrated with pride on 16 January every year. Whatever the day is, everywhere this day is dedicated fully to the teachers & observed with celebrations & enthusiasm respectively. Respect for teachers is prevalent from the great epic Mahabharata. Ekalavya turned out to be the most expert archer & warrior just by practicing in front of the idol of his guru, Dronacharya. Lord Krishna taught Arjun about the reality of the world & the latter emerged victorious in the most famous battle of the History. Touching the feet & seeking blessings along with giving gurudakshina (a tribute to the teacher), is an age long tradition that never died out. Till now this custom is followed & the teachers are given the place just after parents. It’s believed that parents give birth & teachers nurture the child. Tradition of Teacher’s day in USA:

In the USA this day is celebrated not on specific date. It is having different dates of celebration in different educational institutions.
