Carbohydrate glycemic index categorized the foods based on how fast they can raise the glucose level in the blood. Many people thought that carbohydrates are good for health. It is true that carbohydrate is good for the health but eating too much can cause you to become obese. Carbohydrate is just like fat and can cause the person to gain weight. Diabetic people need to use the carbohydrate glycemic index as guidance for creating a healthy diet. The condition of diabetes will worsen if sugary foods that are rich in carbohydrate are introduced into the body. In fact, the carbohydrate glycemic index was originally invented by doctors to help diabetic patient to maintain a stable condition. There are two main types of carbohydrates including simple and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrate is common in sugary food such as cake and other confectionaries. Complex carbohydrate is available in wheat grain food. Nowadays, many people are health conscious. If you are conscious about your health, you should eat foods that are low in carbohydrate glycemic index. Foods that are low in the index contain a minimum amount of sugar, fat and carbohydrate. Most junk foods are assigned with high index values. Sugary foods often cause the individual to feel hungry faster. After the meal, you will want to eat more. You will keep on eating but you will never be satisfied. Eating too much can cause you to have a high risk of developing obesity and diabetes. Eating foods with low carbohydrate glycemic index reduce your hunger for food. You will have lesser appetite to eat food and you won't crave snacks in between meal. Realizing the benefit of low carbohydrate glycemic index food, many diet experts have develops diet programs to help people to lose weight. Low carb diet and low fat diets are based on food with low carbohydrate food. If you want to maintain a GI diet, you need to eat moderate amount of food that contain high quality fats. Examples of high quality fats include polyunsaturated fats, and monounsaturated fats. Nuts such as cashew nuts, walnuts and peanuts are healthy snacks. You should include a few servings of vegetables in your diet. Some of the vegetables that can be included in your diet are lettuce, chili, cabbage, eggplant, garlic, onion, and beetroot. Fruits should also be included in your diet. Some fruits such as watermelon and dates have high GI. However, they are good for health so you should eat them often.
