I share something in common with each of you no matter who you are, where you live, or what you do. What we have in common is something that we can never recapture once it's gone. But, the fact that we have something in common may be as far as we go.

You and I both have the same amount of time available to us in each and every day. What makes us different, however, is how we use our time. To understand the real value of time available you must realize that once it is gone, you can never get it back.

One of the excuses that is heard from people who wish to change their lives is that they don't have enough time. For them, they feel that their current use of time does not allow them to pursue anything else. This excuse, however, is fraught with misguided use of time because if you really want something bad enough, you will find the time.

Let's use the example of someone wanting to study to further their education. This person may be employed full-time, and also have a family to care for. So, where do you find the time needed to study? In this case, there are several possibilities starting with making a list of where you already spend your time. Do you spend time watching TV instead of studying, do you spend time on the weekend going window shopping, or do you spend time going out once a week with friends? Each of these situations when altered will give you that extra time you need to engage in activities that will take you forward.

Have you ever thought about what time you get up in the morning? I know an aspiring author who had a full-time executive position with its on-going demands for extra time for work needed in the evenings, and two children to raise. Yet, this person was able to, over time, write three books that were subsequently published. So, how did she do it? Well, for many, they wouldn't want to do what she did because they didn't have a burning desire, a desire so strong that the excuse of no time available wasn't in her vocabulary. What she did was to get up one hour before she normally would, sit down at her computer, and write. She maintained this routine for over a year and was able to write the books she often had only dreamed about.

Time is the one thing we all have in common, and the one thing that we all use differently. We all use it up to never be able to ever get it back. So, do you have any time to pursue that dream, or are you going to use "no time" as a convenient excuse? Set your goals, find the time, today!
