Summary: A webinar on the topic,“GHS and Hazard Communication”, is being organized on October 4 by MentorHealth, a leading provider of online training for the healthcare industry. Kenneth S. Weinberg, an independent consultant in environmental health and safety, will be the presenter at this webinar. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description: A new Globally Harmonized System (GHS) covering hazard communication has been put in place lately. This is the new standard and replaces the existing one. This webinar will discuss the new standard threadbare. It will take up important points of the new regulation, and will analyze the points that have been added to the old one, or ones that are entirely new. The new standard requires a new format for its safety data sheet, which will be discussed in this session. This session will also highlight the principles on which global harmonization happens. In addition, this session will also discuss the timelines for various stages of harmonization set out by the new form of this regulation. Why is it important to learn all these? Because the new Hazard Communication Standard has important guidelines for employees and employers in the way they understand and deal with chemical hazards in the workplace on a day-to-day basis. Elimination of some terminology, the introduction of new terminology, a significant change in the actual requirements for communication of hazards, and changes in the well-known material safety data sheet are some of the important changes. Attending this webinar will give participants a learning of all of the above. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When: October 4, 10:00 AM PDT | 01:00 PM EDT ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By whom: Dr. Kenneth S.
