The word "Yoga" came from the Sanskrit word "yuj" which means "to unite or integrate.” Yoga, in general, is a spiritual practice or discipline that helps the individual unifies his/her body, mind, and heart. In Yoga, the body is treated with care and respect for it is the primary instrument in man's work and growth. Yoga Exercises improve circulation, stimulate the abdominal organs, and put pressure on the glandular system of the body, which can generally result to better health.nnLegend has it that knowledge of Yoga was first passed by Lord Shiva to his wife Parvati and from there into the lives of men. Yoga is therefore a spiritual quest. However, along the path of yoga, the aspirant also gains health, happiness, tranquility and knowledge which are indicators of progress and an encouragement to continue their practice.nnYoga is about balance. Balance in eating, balance in drinking, balance in exercise, balance in purporting yourself. Yes, too fat is out of balance, as is too thin, but neither is a crime punishable by not being able to stretch.nn
