What’s YOUR Plan B?

They’re calling it Gigonomics – the economy of gigs. The fact is, we’re all freelancers now, because the days of working for one company for 30 years and then retiring have gone the way of the 8-track. Here are three proven steps to create your Plan B: 1. Use AFFORMATIONS. No, that’s not a misprint. Instead of saying, " I am good enough", try asking, "Why can I do this?" I call these empowering questions AFFORMATIONS – NOT affirmations!rnThe success gurus told us to use old-school “affirmations” like, "I am rich." And your brain responds, "Yeah, right!" Instead of saying a statement you don’t believe, why not ask an Afformation like: "Why did everything work out better than I thought?" When you ask empowering questions, your mind will Search for why you can, in fact, handle this. One of my Students was facing a car repair bill of $7,852 and she immediately panicked. Then, she remembered how to use Afformations and started afforming, “Why did everything work out just fine?” The next day, the auto shop told her that her entire bill was covered by warranty. Crisis averted. 2. Find a Safe Haven. A Safe Haven is a person who can give you unconditional support while still holding you accountable to the demands of business. My studies of the Naturals of Success – who I call Three Percenters – have shown that in every single case, the so-called Naturals had someone in their lives who believed in them, even when they didn’t believe in themselves. Find a Safe Haven who believes in you and holds you accountable, because we will often do more for others than even ourselves. A true Safe Haven will show you how to get rid of the “head trash” that’s been holding you back. 3. Install your People System. Just like your house or your body, your life is comprised of Systems that must function properly so you can reinvent yourself. The Five Essential Systems of Support are: People, Activities, Environment, Introspection, and Simplify. The most essential one is the People System. Why? Because people have all the money, all the contacts, and all the things you want. If even one of your Systems isn’t working properly, you’ll have a hard time creating Plan B. That’s why you need to ensure that your Systems are running at optimal levels to create your Plan B. Success doesn’t happen because Plan A worked. The real reason people succeed is what occurs after Plan A.
