What Type of Auto Insurance is Best For You? Driving in the United States today requires an up to date proof of auto insurance. This means that you must carry the minimum requirements that your state has regulated in order to drive legally. Auto insurance companies have worked hard in order to meet these requirements while still keeping costs low enough for people to afford. The problem with buying auto insurance is not the cost, but the different choices that are available. Which auto insurance policy is right for you? Liability Coverage In each of the U.S. states there is a minimum requirement for auto insurance that must be carried by each driver. Most of the time this policy will be a combination of bodily injury and physical property damage liability. Consumers have the opportunity to purchase these policies separately, but they are generally lumped together to form one liability auto insurance policy. With this policy there are different types of coverage that is offered. This coverage looks like 50/100/50, or some other number variation. These numbers stand for the amount of money, in thousands, that is being paid for bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident, and property damage per accident. Depending on the state requirements the liability insurance policy should match up to it. Some important things to remember about this policy is that it only covers the costs of an accident for the other party if you are the cause of the accident. It does not cover any expenses of the policy holder. Collision Insurance Policy The collision insurance policy is much like the liability auto insurance policy, but it covers the cost of your vehicle no matter if the accident was your fault or not. This insurance will pay for damages over the deductible that you pay first. One of the ways that many people can keep costs down on this type of insurance is to have a higher deductible attached to their policy. Comprehensive Insurance Policy This auto insurance policy is the most complete coverage that you can receive. Not only eoes the comprehensive auto insurance policy cover costs of repairs, and medical costs, but also pays for damage from non-vehicular accidents. For instance, comprehensive auto insurance covers costs involved in car theft, vandalism, and natural disasters. Which Auto Insurance Meets Your Needs? To determine what type of insurance you should purchase you must first think of what your driving style is like. Do you drive a lot? If not, then liability coverage might be what you need. If you are financing a new car, you will not have a choice. Most banks and financial institutions require comprehensive insurance coverage for the life of the loan. Collision auto insurance is something to consider after the car loan is paid off and you still do a lot of driving. Before you head out on the road, make sure that you have adequate coverage in the auto insurance you carry. Determine your needs and then buy the policy which best fits those needsrnhttp://www.autoinsurancequoteseth.co.ccrnsethking@37.com
