You may agree if I say that based on our own countless experiences (and of course, research) tell us that team motivation boosts employee productivity regardless what kind of business or company one manages or handles. Team motivation is a very essential or vital skill a manager or leader must possess. It stimulates and motivates employees or staff and also yourself to do more and achieve more when it comes to working, thus it enhances productivity to its maximum. And what are the ways in which team motivation can foster productivity? 1.Well, for one, the working environment itself can be an effective and awesome work enhancer and motivator. This aspect encompasses the team the employees perform or operate within and it in fact affects the general feel and culture of the entire workplace. Some simple things or freebies such as free coffee for example, make it all a great difference. So you see, decent, clean and neat ambiance contributes to inspiring and motivating the work force to work and perform well, not to mention to feel at ease and comfortable, making their workplace their second home. 2. Achievement or accomplishment at work—employees who set their sights and ultimately accomplishes their goals and targets which is directed by their heads or bosses are typically motivated by work. They show up and report to work the next day and thereafter to make, pursue and attain their next accomplishment milestone. 3. Employees who do not get promoted in their work (in spite of being in the company for so long) lose that energized spirit of team motivation. And that’s why self growth is such a favorable work-associated motivator. A good measure for a professional self growth at the workplace is the job title, salary increase, bonuses or benefits, the responsibilities and authority designated or given to heighten and develop the staff’s self growth and self esteem at the same time. 4. Recognition—even a very simple or common ‘thank you’ is greatly appreciated. Giving praises or compliments (loud enough to be heard or to be known) is a fantastic team motivation that doesn’t even cost a single penny. These kinds of motivation are the kinds that subordinates like a lot since it’s so easy to deliver yet somehow, quite rare to receive (depending on your supervisors’ personality, that is). The staff who complies and accomplishes their manager’s instructed tasks and goals and work and render long hours to attain them of course, expect to be recognized and acknowledged. They will more or less expect some bonus, job promotion or a well deserved salary increase. And not giving what is due to them greatly reduces team motivation or their sense of worth. But more importantly, never ever try to steal or take the credit of your staff! Therefore, how you motivate your staff greatly relies on your understanding of the needs of your staff and the goals of your company you supervise. So that’s why the presence of team motivation is needed to maintain the staff and enhance productivity.
