Emotional well-being is the effective management of your emotions, and the ability to comprehend the value and weight of your feelings, actions and reactions. Additionally, this would also include your capability of using your emotions properly to move forward in your life in a positive direction. Maintaining a proper emotional well-being can have a positive impact on your emotional health, and provide you many years of happiness and joy. Long-Term Emotional Well-Being The definition of long-term emotional well-being involves is the ability to look positively at the continuous arc of your life. Even though all human beings deal with stress throughout our years, many people with robust emotional health are able to grasp the natural cycle of the many ups and downs we all encounter throughout our life. If we choose not to define our life by a single unhappy emotion or event, but instead see the larger picture of our entire existence, we can create a long-term emotional well-being. This powerful emotional resilience diminishes the high levels of fight or flight, fear, worry, stress and anxiety we will, at some time, face over the course of our entire life. Short-Term Emotional Well-Being As women, the everyday roller coaster of emotions we feel from the time we wake up to the time to go to sleep, can typically involve both good and bad stress, along with the interaction of everyone involved in our daily life. Building a short-term emotional well-being involves identifying our strengths, as we work to make them stronger. Using our strengths to fix our difficult problems is a way to master our emotions, increase the joy and happiness of our life experience, and cope with the challenging stresses and personal priorities we meet every day. The Positive Effects of Emotional Well-Being Just a few of the positive effects of emotional well-being you can build on include self-confidence, healing, change, and finally growth. Through self-confidence, you can gain the trust in yourself to achieve the ability to believe in the choices you make, and the way you love others. Building on that, comes healing from the anxiety, stress, depression and grief you experience along the road of your life. Strengthening our self-confidence and healing or emotional wounds allows us to change, and in that change we transform the unhealthy patterns of negative feelings, illogical thinking and inappropriate behavior. Finally, with positive change comes growth, to live a more authentic life, filled with natural ups and downs, and the ability to healthily handle what comes next. More than Just Words Taking the first step in building toward transformation from an unhealthy emotional state to a positive emotional well-being is more than just words. Believing that transformation is possible can move you a single step closer to living a healthier emotional life. In that belief you can leave stress, despair and worry behind you as you look through new eyes with an inspired desire for positive change. In your second step, you will find the blossoming of your emotional freedom as you take control and management of your emotions, senses, intuition and feelings to guide you to a healthier emotional well-being.
