It is a common misconception that there are the creative or right-brain people, and then there are the logical, or left-brain people. The truth is we all have a left side of the brain, and a right side of the brain. Therefore, we are all capable of accessing either side. So, if you have thought being a creative genius is out of your reach, think again. Here are some easy and fun ways to access your creative energy:nn1. Read more fiction. A good novel is ripe with complex characters, and unique plot twists. You might have to experiment with different authors to find one that jibes with you—that’s what those benches in the bookstores are for. Read through the first few paragraphs; if you feel yourself riveted to the open book in front of you, great! It’s even better if you find yourself smiling or laughing. Do something you have never done before, something that you have always wanted to do. This could cover a wide variety of things: take a salsa lesson, go sky diving, start a conversation on an elevator with a stranger, get yourself a puppy, join a dating service, write a how-to book, learn a language, etc. Really dig deep, and write them down in the order that you would most like to have that experience. That’s interesting, I never would of thought of looking at it from that point of view.” When you change your thinking into one of gratitude you are telling the universe that you are a being that is aware that life is constantly giving you gifts.
