This really struck me the other day, when I left a message on Facebook basically saying that today was a great day and I am so excited about what the next five years look like. I received a response from a friend of mine in the morning who ask for my "crystal ball". This got me to thinking, do people really think that the mysterious answer to life can be found in a crystal ball? We all have the ability to change our future, but we cannot do it without altering the past. You see, the past for the human race is filled with limited beliefs of one's self and limited beliefs of other people. Society fills us with self-doubt, anxiety and beliefs that the only way we can be happy is to be like someone else or have someone else's lifetsyle. I know, this may sound negative, but it's true. Here is a basic fact: The present doesn't dictate your reality. Your reality is dictated by the past. It's true. We all live into a future dictated by our past. Think about this: Look back at the last two, maybe three of anything you have had, i.e. relationship, car, job, boss. Do they all look the same? Well here is me getting in your face and saying it's not them - IT'S YOU!! If you drew up a list of all the things that are wrong with your life or the reasons you can't get ahead and your not on it - there is a major problem. You should be the first item on that list. For some it may be the first and second line. So, how do we get rid of these patterns? As my mentor Jim Rohn says so eloquently: "For things to change. You have to change." We need to be certain that we can do things, that we can achieve and that we can be happy. Here's the secret: It all starts from within. If your not happy, no one else around you will be happy. We need to give up our act that the only way we can get ahead is through the failure of others and that everyone is out to get us. The only true way to accomplish this is through conditioning. Think of an Olympic athete or a marathoner. Do you think they got to where they are because they trained for one day, one week or one year? Hell no. It takes years, upon years, upon years to get to an elite status. That's what I want you to see. While you may make the decision after reading this to make the changes necessary to alter your future, it's the day to day processes that makes all the difference. You have to stick with it and have the faith that for every minor change you make today, a greater tomorrow awaits. You have to believe in yourself and the people around you. You are the creator of your own destiny. My true point is this: My friend failed to realize that I don't have a "crystal ball" and I don't have all the answers. What I do have is the knowledge that if you want the ability to see the next five years of your life, all you really have to do is look at the last five. Unless YOU change.

I have a new cell phone. I didn’t want a new cell phone; I was perfectly happy with my 2020 cell phone, but it wasn’t happy with me. Its connector charging port was ailing. Failing, actually, the service tech told me. And besides, it was an old phone, what did I expect? Old? This to a woman who is more than content, read “thrilled,” to wear outdated fashions just because she likes them. And would willingly keep computers way past their supposed “shelf life.” Sigh. OK, fine,
