In your journal, write what occurs to you in response to Merton's question.
Examine your responses by grouping the "voices" that spoke in your jou
aling.
If you allow the process to be effortless, the many "I's" inside you will make present themselves like a cast of characters.
Using the sword of disce
ment, we can learn that these false "I"s are the delusions of the personality's wounding.
In taking our power back from these false voices, we reclaim the energy lost in childhood to automatic defensive behaviors.
