The company in its response agreed to finance the research linked with olanzapine side effects.

Another lawsuit entitled as ‘Zyprexa is unsafe for Alzheimers’, was published in the American Medical Association journal, where in it was stated that the fatal side effect associated with Zyprexa was no small an issue to be overlooked. Healthcare experts rely on clinical evaluations, when prescribing a drug to any patient. In Zyprexa’s case, as some information was missing, the evaluation was far dangerous than anyone could anticipate.

There were a series of lawsuits filed against Eli Lilly for not warning public about potential risks behind the drug. Since the first lawsuit filed in 2001, there were numerous that made to the headlines till the year 2008.

Very few people believed that the vast popularity that Zyprexa enjoyed would be gone in just few years.
