Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Diane Fernandez
One of my favorite thoughts to begin the day with is "How can I improve today on what I did yesterday?" If you start out with a positive outlook and smiling often, you cannot help but feel better as the day progresses. For those in need of coaching and finding a new job, career or focus in life, this is the start button. Motivation is an internal process, but has exte
al factors. I like the use of the acronym, "LEADING" to remember basic motivations in life. Love, important to all and used by many; Exte
al including the people around you and where you go; Anger which colors all we think and do in negatives; Desparation which can tend to create anxiety and pushes normally thoughtful people into poor choices as they become impulsive; Internal which are all of our feelings and have an enormous impact on our actions; Need which forces us all in the direction of fulfilling our basic ones; and finally Greed which appears to motivate so many in such harmful ways.
How to get started
"This too shall pass" is one that helps in the midst of crises to help lend a time factor so we do not make the poor choices but spend some time thinking through our options. If yoiu can dream it, you can do it. Before anything becomes real, and in this world, it must first be a dream by one of us or many of us. How can we get the job, career, home, spouse, thing we want or desire if we do not allow ourselves to first have a dream of it? The answer is obvious that we cannot. The most important thing we can do is to encourage dreaming and creativity in others and in ourselves. Stomping on anyone's dream because we don't believe in it, is the most harmful thing we can do individually to harm another human being. "Dreams die last" and another I love, "Some things have to be believed to be seen". Think about it!
