So you've broken up with your ex. It is highly probable that you are going through emotions such as denial, frustration, sadness and anger. During this difficult time your rational thinking becomes clouded by these emotions and you may be tempted to do things that you may not do otherwise, such as: calling your ex incessantly, pleading for you to get back together, sending e-mails, letters, text messaging, etc.
This is absolutely understandable. However, it is definitely not the best way to convince your ex to get back to you. There is in fact a certain strategy you can use that will get you ex back quickly and painlessly.
Keep in mind that although this strategy is very powerful, it is just a first step that initiates the process of getting your ex back.
So what exactly should you do to? It's simple...ignore you ex for a while. This may seem counter-intuitive but it is in fact one of the most effective strategies you can use. It means you need to stop initiating contact whatsoever with him or her: no more calling, begging and pleading to get back together, leaving messages on their voicemail, or any other means of contact. If you fail to do so, your ex will realize that you are desperate and needy. He or she will also know that you will always be available to them - basically they won't respect you anymore and this will kill your chances of getting them back.
The best way for handling this kind of situation is to give them some space and not come across as someone who can't handle being single and alone. Preferably, you should tell them that you in fact agree you should spend some time apart for a period of time. If you do this in a non-emotional and nonchalant way, your ex will think of you as an independent and strong person, and this will become very beneficial when the time comes for you to re-establish contact with them. This strategy may seem completely counter-intuitive but it works.
Another benefit of applying this strategy is that it will give you enough time to be by yourself for a while. Spending some alone time is the only way to let the negative emotions you associate with the break up to subside. Only then can you decide on what course of action should be without your emotions clouding your judgment.
