Each one of us experience acne problem at one point of our lives especially during our teenage years. Acne is caused by the malfunctioning of sebaceous glands of our face, neck and back. These glands secrete oily substances that tend to clog the pores when produced excessively. Once the glands become clogged of dirt, it would lead to pimple and acne problem. One common form of acne found primarily among adolescents is the acne vulgaris.
The main source of acne vulgaris is still undiagnosed but there are different factors that lead to this condition. The main factors are genetic endowment, oily skin and androgens. Other factors include allergic reactions, use of certain drugs, stress, nutritional inadequacies, liver dysfunctions, industrial pollution, cosmetics products, and even monthly menstrual cycle.
The skin plays a big part in the detoxification process of our body because the skin eliminates body’s toxic waste through perspiration. Most doctors call the skin the 3rd kidney because it effectively frees toxins same with what the kidney does. The toxins that escape through the skin can cause damage to our skin thus results to acne problems.
Below are 10 Ways For Handling Acne and Keeping a Healthy Skinrn(Note: Some tips may take 2-4 weeks before seeing positive results)
1.) Use distilled white vinegar on your face and other affected area. Leave it to stand for about 5-10 minutes before rinsing off with cool water.
Note: If the vinegar is too strong, you can add water to dilute it.
2.) Another way of getting rid of dead skin cells is by applying lemon juice or citric juice to your face. Lemon and citric fruits are natural exfoliants that assist in preventing clogging of pores and remove dead skin cells. In applying the citric juice to your face, allow it to dry and wait for 10 minutes before rinsing off with cool water.
Note: If ever you feel any prick or burning sensation in utilizing lemon juice, you can dilute it with water.
3.) The best and gentlest way in cleansing your body is increasing water intake. Water helps detoxify your body by flushing out toxins and transporting nutrients throughout the body.
4.) Take a complete and balanced diet. Take high quality multi vitamins and minerals daily to add on the missing nutrients of your body.
5.) Fruits like echinacea or oregon grape can help beef up your immune system and stop acne-causing bacteria.
6.) Dandelion, Burdock or red clover can also assistance in keeping the liver healthy.
