Doing the same old workout can get boring. You need to do something different. Here are 10 non-traditional workouts for your abs health that you might want to consider. A little excitement can go a long way for you and your muscles. So do something different for your abs and body health. If you haven’t been working out with a partner, go get one. They’ll help challenge you. Work out on the stairs/steps at your local stadium or office building. Movies can give truth sometimes. Running up and down those steps – sweating is a great workout. If you have a partner, pass each other, go in opposite directions, laugh at each other. Do it once or twice a week. You can even just run up and then walk down. Lots of cardio, leg work, endurance and balance. Abs work with you balance and well…everything. Hill sprints. They can be similar to staircase workouts. You can even run up the hill and walk down, then do it again. Try to go up a hill as fast as you can and then pokily walk down. Do THAT a few times! On fields, run a fast sprint a hundred yards or so and then jog or walk to catch your breath. Talk about a real fat burner! Go indoor rock climbing. You’ll exercise every part of your body and get your heart pumping when you pull yourself up. Tighten up those abs when pulling up. Tug O War or Stick Wrestling. Can’t do it without a partner. Who’s stronger? Stay on your feet while you wrestle, because the other guy will want you to lose your balance so they can win! Skip rope like you did when you were a child. Remember how much fun it was when you were young and counted how many jumps you would make before missing? Do it 10 or 15 minutes. It’s quite tiring and a good coordination activity. Be young and jump for your youth. Get two partners to see if you can still jump that way. Boxing bag. Hang one up, slip on your gloves and hit away! Take out your frustrations out on the bag. Kick it too. Use it for your cardio kickboxing activity as well. This is a great stress reducer. Rope climbing or swing a rope over the water Either way, you’ll be using all of your body. Climb up the rope like a monkey or jump into the water from swing on the rope to refresh yourself. Pull yourself back out of the water and do it again. You’ll remember a few muscles you forgot you had, but at least you had fun! Go mountain biking. Go with friends and have fun on the dirt trails. Works out everything. Go get dirty! Go fill up some sandbags. Hard labor, but a good workout. You don’t need flooding to do it. Try different weights and move them around. Use a partner and hand them back and forth to each other. More muscles … Stuck at home? On a trip? Get a gallon of milk, a few can for some weights. Use a suitcase for lifting. Do repetitions. Squeeze in a bunch of push-ups, crunches, leg lifts. Work out with a chair. Isometric moves. Got the picture? There are all kinds of exercises that you can do that will work out your body and give you great abs.
