A lot of people are influenced by the decisions of the vast majority and they are victims of peer pressure. Everyone can choose to follow the minority and be happy by doing so.
Now, I invite you to ponder about the following remarks. Please read carefully and reread if necessary. Thank you for your time and for your desire to learn and succeed.
--A small minority of people win Nobel Prizes, even if there are many smart people in almost every country on earth. --Less than 1% of world population lives a very long life (centenarians). There are centenarians in developing and developed countries but they are few and far between.
--A tiny minority of couples get to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversaries, whereas the majority of couples especially the wealthy ones terminate their marriage after a few years.
--A small minority of athletes can become gold medalists in spite of the efforts made by all of those athletes for so many years.
--Less than 1% of passengers fly in first class regularly, that’s why the number of first class seats can usually be counted with the fingers of one’s hands.
--A very small minority of people become billionaires. Out of seven billion people in the world, there are only about 1100 billionaires according to Forbes list.
--A tiny minority of world population are still famous two centuries after their death, whereas some people are totally forgotten a few years after their death. Some people are not even known during their lifetime.
--Less than 0.5 % of world population has visited more than 50 countries. Some people die without having visited other towns in their own countries.
--About 1% of people can speak confidently in front of a large public for more than 1 hour. In fact, public speaking is more feared than death in some countries.
--Less than 0.5% of blind people around the world have college degrees. I only know of Helen Keller who had two doctorate degrees and my fellow citizen who has a master’s degree in economics.
--A small minority of authors have written bestsellers despite the large number of great authors worldwide. --A tiny minority of officers have become four-star general in the Army. Actually, very few people dare to dream to become the best they can be.
--Only a minority of girls will ever become Miss Universe in spite of the large number of participants from many countries every year. They are all so beautiful but only one becomes a Miss in one competition.
--Very few of soccer teams become world champions during World Cups and other major soccer games, even though millions of soccer teams practice every week and try to do their best in every game.
--Out of approximately 7 billion world population, only a few men have been able to go to the Moon. Those men did things that most people are not willing to do.
As a conclusion, if you keep following the vast majority in your life, you may not be able to enjoy the successes abovementioned. However, let me remind you that you CAN ALWAYS choose to follow the minority and be really happy.
