15 Weeks Pregnant: Signs and Tell-tale Symptoms

The women are gifted by god with one of the most amazing experiences: the ability to grow a living being inside her. Every pregnancy is special and should be embraced with an open mind. The right nourishment and the right care would go a long way in making the baby strong and healthy. When a woman is 15 weeks pregnant, she may feel a lot bloated than before. The baby bump is very prominent and she can no longer fit in her favorite clothes anymore. This is the perfect time to go shopping for maternity clothes that look good as well as are comfortable for the lady. Weight gain is also another common occurrence and by now the woman has exotic cravings and she might gorge on food like never before. So, at this point of time she often gains weight tremendously. The body is preparing fast and as such progesterone is also released at a heavy rate. This makes women prone to gas and she can avoid this by keeping away from foods that trigger such activities like sodas or beans etc. At 15 weeks pregnant, the baby is 15 inches and has gained another ounce. The baby's spinal cord has now formed fully. However, it is advisable for the mothers not to stop taking their folic acid pills because these are still crucial for the developing baby. Another new phenomenon is taking place with the baby. The little one's bones have started forming and this process will continue for the entire length of pregnancy. Now when the woman is 16 weeks pregnant, a normal woman might have gained as much as approximately ten pounds and the baby too is growing very fast. It is during this week that the woman will feel an unfamiliar sensation. This is the week when the baby will start moving inside the belly. This might fell to the woman as butterflies in her tummy. The baby is now growing at a very fast rate and has now become over 4.5 inches long. It is said by most experienced people that the baby now resembles the size of a mango! Earlier the baby had eyes and ears developing but now the most remarkable thing has happened! Amongst the thousands of expressions in the human world, the little one too has started having its own facial expressions! However, he or she still doesn't have the ability to control these expressions. Another new development at this stage is that the baby's hands and toes are developing and are distinct. Earlier the baby only had plates instead of his fingers, now they are developing into distinguishable fingers! The fingers are still short now but the upcoming weeks will see them growing pretty fast!
