Types - There are many types of this plant but you want the A. Calamus species others can be toxic.
Where it Grows - Japan, Asia, Europe, Middle East, South America, Canada, Australia, India, Russia, and the US. It’s also a common houseplant and ornamental shrub. It’s usually a water plant but will grow in very damp areas and in woodland settings.
Parts Used - The roots and the stems which contain lots of great oils.
Taste - Tastes somewhat like nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon… a very nice flavor.
Sedative and Relaxing - Helps with Insomnia, very soothing, and powerful sleep agent… and it also helps a person to relax and helps with stress and anxiety. One of the most powerful sleep agents around. It contains asarone a potent relaxing and sleep-inducing agent.
Lowers Blood Pressure - Sweet Flag is a powerful blood pressure lowering agent when taken by mouth.
