Finding the right natural remedy for your dry skin is very important. The following items are two of the most effective, all-natural, dry skin care ingredients available for sale at most health stores.
Oatmeal: The Miracle Skin Care Ingredient
Take full advantage of the healing benefits of oatmeal when it comes to treating your dry or damaged skin. Oatmeal offers amazingly soothing skin care benefits that were first discovered more than 4,000 years ago.
To make a soothing oatmeal treatment for your dry skin simply pour 2 cups of colloidal oatmeal (oatmeal ground into a fine powder that will suspend in the water rather than sink into the bottom of the tub) into a bathtub full of lukewarm water. Pour another 1/4 cup of colloidal oatmeal into a cheese cloth, tie the cheese cloth and then dunk it in the water, squeeze the excess water out and use this just like you would use a typical washcloth to exfoliate and sooth your dry skin.
Experiment With Superfatted Soaps
Choose soaps that are superfatted. Most mass-produced commercial soap brands contain a material called lye, and while Lye is great for cleaning, it is also very irritating to dry skin. But, superfatted soaps are different!
Just as the name implies, these super fatted soaps contain all-natural ingredients and extra amounts of fats like shea butter, olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil, and cocoa butter, which are added to the soap mix during the manufacturing process. Most varieties of African black soap, used for centuries to treat a variety of skin problems, are prime examples of superfatted soaps.
