When the mother is 2 weeks Pregnant, not many noticeable changes take place in her body. In fact this is one of the earliest stages of pregnancy and the only indicator is a missed period. Preliminary and the most common symptoms of pregnancy are morning sickness and nausea. Also, food will not taste the same again! These are trying times for the women because she would be subjected by a volley of hormonal changes and physical discomforts as well. This is the stage where the pregnant lady probably gains excessive weight. She needs more and more food and often has cravings for something tangy or something very exotic. This is also the time where exasperated husbands run here and there attending to the exquisite demands of their pregnant wives. Other important symptoms to look for when a woman is 2 weeks pregnant are generally evident in the first two weeks of pregnancy. These include symptoms such as swelling, aches and often pains in different parts of the back as well as the body. Sometimes few of the women also experience possible pregnancy cramps. Pregnancy cramps occur on the calves and are known as “Charlie’s Horse Cramp” and are often as a result of low calcium in the body. At 3 weeks pregnant, the symptoms are almost the same. However, a pregnant lady might experience other symptoms such as swollen and tender breasts. Since, the body is preparing to produce milk at a very huge rate; the breasts are also undergoing tumultuous changes and growing proportionally in size as well. Besides that the woman might also feel tired and fatigued excessively. The reason is the body producing progesterone steadily and also preparing to make room for a new baby. Food aversions as well as cravings for a certain kind of food also increases manifold. The body is also going through heavy amount of changes and amniotic fluid is beginning to collect around the little ball of cells in the cavity that will become the amniotic sac. This little ball of cells which actually grow up to be a full-fledged baby! This fluid in turn will cushion the baby in the weeks and months ahead. Right now, the little one is receiving oxygen, nutrients as well as discarding waste products through a primitive circulation system. The placenta on the other hand hasn’t fully developed. The placenta will take over these activities only after the end of the week.
