.Dream - It is important to have a dream. The majority of successful people had a dream and in fact, most people have a dream; it is the fulfilment of your dreams, that might become a challenge. Be one of the people who follow their dream!

2. Conceptualize your dream – Make your dream something concrete in your mind and it will appear to be more within your grasp.

3. Identify your God-given talent – Initially, it may be difficult to identify your talent. However, as you gradually begin to disce
your strengths, take hold of them and build on them for therein lie your talents.

.Set goals – Your goals should be aimed at the realization of your dreams and should be set within realistic time frames. They should be positive, reasonable and achievable.

.Have faith – Believe in yourself and believe in God through whom all things are possible. Open yourself to a closer communion with God so that you are able to disce
his direction and take the right turns in life. The spiritual element is very important!

.Seize opportunities - When a door is opened for you, enter! You might have to change your route later on, but for now, this might be the most suitable path to follow up to a certain point. Be open and alert; limited vision causes you to be trapped within the box thus missing other obvious routes which could take you to the desired destination.

.Recognize impediments for what they are and get rid of them - Many people are hindered by their own feelings of inadequacy, insecurity, fear of the unknown and envy of their neighbour. They become too entangled in these negative preoccupations to even embark on their own journey of self-fulfilment. This is folly!

.Be disciplined - Have a success plan and follow it. Make the necessary sacrifices and avoid negative distractions. Daily discipline requires commitment, but it will yield a win for you in the long run.

.Listen to successful people – Successful people have already walked the path. They have great stories which can motivate and inspire you.

.Avoid negative company – Negative people, by their attitude and talk, can be demotivating and have the potential to cripple you if you are not strong minded and strong in faith.

.Avoid the blame game – Do not blame others for your inability to succeed. If you miss or pass up opportunities you have no one to blame but yourself. If ten years down the road, you are still exactly where you started, don’t blame your lack of progress on your poor background, lack of opportunities, lack of resources, lack of support from your spouse, co-workers or friends. Rather, look at what you are not doing and what you ought to do NOW!

.Be industrious - The bible speaks out against laziness and slothfulness so the best way to achieve success is through hard work and perseverance. Remember the saying,"God helps those who help themselves!"

.Adopt a positive attitude. The popular saying, “Your attitude determines your altitude” holds true for all time. You may be endowed with the greatest talent, but if your attitude stinks you will eventually dig your own grave.

.Be proactive – Don’t be a passenger; be a driver! We are not all born to be leaders all the time, but who said we cannot drive?

.Expect change – Be prepared to encounter change. Anticipate it, initiate it, embrace it for the world is not standing still because of you.

.Use your Fears – Analyse your fear. If it is positive in the sense that it is pointing you away from recklessness, take heed. However, if your fear is unfounded and only serves as a hindrance to your forward movement, squash it! Fear can be your single worst enemy. When you arrive at a bend in the road where you fear what might be around the corner, consider your other options and lean on the Lord for guidance. If he points you in that direction, go for it!

.Boost your confidence – Be your own motivator! When in a difficult situation speak encouraging words aloud to yourself or you might prefer to sing or pray. Write motivational post-it notes to yourself, view motivational videos and listen to motivational songs. Whatever works best for you, you go!

.Never say it’s too late – It is never too late to go after your dream. Many are the tales of women who, after raising their families have gone on to pursue their career dreams and at 60 and 70 years old have graduated with university degrees. It may be too late to land them a great job, but it is never too late for personal fulfilment. Again many are the men who have gone from one enterprise to the other experiencing failure after failure, yet persevering until they realize their dreams at the end. Success delayed can be a sweetener in old age.

.Share your success story – Your story might help another beginner to find his way or motivate another failure to dust himself off and start all over again.

.Share your bounty – Now that your blessings are many, share your bounty with others for God loves a cheerful giver.
