3 Core Mindsets Before Starting a Successful Internet Business

Over the past week I've gone socializing with a few of my buddies who were interested to get started in internet marketing and online business. They asked many things and one of the more popular topic was about how to make money in the cyber world. Since I was doing internet marketing myself, they requested me to share my experience.

After the meeting, we decided to relax ourselves by watching a movie entitled `Real Steel' (starring Hugh Jackman).

I must say after watching this movie, I have no regrets whatsoever and in fact would highly recommend it to my friends.

For those who are interested, it is like a hybrid of `Transformers' and `Rocky' blockbusters put together.

What interests me besides the superb computer- generated effects is the dramatic story line. It talked about the initial failures of an ex-boxer who was struggling to make ends meet promoting robot competitions and how his neglected 11 year old son later showed him strong belief and determination to succeed even with an outdated and discarded robot from the junk yard stockpile.

So what has it got to do with internet marketing and starting an online business?

Plenty and I shall list out 3 core mindsets that many take for granted. They can be of great help as you start venturing into the internet business.

Overcoming failures

In school we are taught not to make mistakes so that we can pass our exams. But in real life, we need to make a lot of mistakes that are sometimes life-changing experiences. So making mistakes are essential for gaining success.

The idea is to make lots of mistakes preferably early in life and learn from it. This is to enable us to make an early comeback, wiser to make adjustments and gets us closer to success in the shortest time possible.

To complement this experience, it is imperative that we also equip ourselves with the necessary knowledge and skills when starting out in internet business.

Basically there are 2 issues that confronts us. Firstly, we need to understand some technical know-how in order to make the system work. For example, finding a suitable niche, buying a domain name, creating a website or using the auto-responder all need some basic technical knowledge which is freely available online.

Secondly, we need to know how to promote and drive traffic to our website by using one or more of the traffic generation methods like article marketing, video marketing, social media networking, advertising in Google AdWords and so on.

Belief It Can Work

You must be passionate and have belief that your set goals can be achieved. I like what Napoleon Hill shared, "What the mind can conceive and believe, you will achieve". By visualizing the goals in our minds, it strengthens our determination to succeed.

In any business there are successes and failures. Internet business is no exception. For success to thrive you must be positive and believe that your internet business can work since there are many fine examples of successful internet marketers in the world.

Focusing on solutions rather than the problems help our mind to be actively focused in seeking ways to become more successful. In internet marketing, if you can provide a valuable solution to a particular problem, you are in business.

Determination to Succeed

One must have the determination to succeed even if the odds are against us.

There are countless examples of determined people who failed initially but succeeded later. Here are some:

Thomas Edison only succeeded after he failed 1,000 times in his light bulb experiments.

Donald Trump had to come back from 19 failures and bankruptcies within a 17 years period and still became a billionaire.

Bill Gates was a dropout of Harvard and failed in his first business with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen called Traf-O-Data before later becoming the richest man in the world.

Many would have crumbled under these types of intense pressure. But we can draw the much-need inspiration that these were ordinary people who just had that strong will to succeed. One cannot help but to take action and carry out the necessary actions to achieve our very own success.

The key is to never give up when faced with challenges, however great it may seem.
