3 Life Saving Tips to Help Moms Balance their Lives Grow Their Businesses

We moms are all supermoms considering what we do on a daily basis. Between getting the kids ready for school, preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, being a chauffeur, running our own businesses and managing the home it would be hard to imagine seeing the world run smoothly without good old mom. However, all of this running and going, doing and moving take a toll on our health, our relationships and our businesses if we don’t ask for help. Contrary to what so many people believe, doing it all does not equal success. You must know that if you are going to raise a family, take care of yourself and build a business you can’t do it all. You will need to let go and start delegating.

So, what is the difference between having it all and doing it all? Are you confused yet? As mothers, we can go to school, start our businesses, live our passions and still be great moms. But, we can’t do every chore in the home or complete every aspect of our business by the end of the day, without feeling completely burned out. The only way you’re going to grow your business and raise your family sanely is to outsource and delegate.
Delegating is hard for us because we sometimes have things that we want done in a special way and we are used to doing it all. When we let go and allow other people to support us, you may be pleasantly surprised by what they bring to the table. Give these 3 life-saving tips a try.
Tip #1: Delegate your house duties. If you have children who are 4 and up, believe it or not you can give them simple chores to take the load off of you. I have a 4 year old and he can make his bed, put his dirty clothes in the laundry room and clean up his toys. You can also speak to your partner about sharing more of the household duties, if it applies.

Some things that I have done to help ease the load include hiring a housecleaner to come in once a week. I have used a meal planning service, where you go in on the weekend and prepare all of your meals for the week. I have also used menu planning services that help you simply meal plan. If you don’t want to actually do the shopping, some grocery stores will deliver your groceries. My local grocery store will do it for a flat fee of $10. You order the food online and they deliver it on Thursdays. You can’t beat that kind of service.
Tip #2: How can you grow your business, when you’re always working in your business playing catch-up? It’s pretty difficult, especially when you’re a mom. What to do? What to do? Hire help! When you eliminate time-wasters, like submitting articles to directories, posting blog posts, researching, transcribing audio, then you create more time for you to actually market yourself and create more services and products. You can hire a virtual assistant, you can set up an internship program or you can hire a local assistant who will help you run your business.

Tip#3: Start today by writing down everything that takes time. Now, go through and see what you can take off your plate starting today. Think you can’t hire a virtual assistant or a housecleaner? Think again. If you can find $50-$100 in your budget, use that as a starting point to hire some help. Start with whatever you have so that you can simply start. As you continue to grow your business, you can continue to take more and more stuff off your plate, so that you can do the things you really enjoy.
