Obesity has been a problem the world has been dealing with for a long time now. Over time, the number of people with this kind of weight problem has alarmingly increased. People have resorted to different kinds of solutions, proven effective or not, just to overcome this problem. One of the most extreme solutions they have found is the gastric band surgery. rnThis type of surgery involves a silicone-based band called a lap band or laparoscopic adjustable band which is kept at the top portion of the stomach. This band will have the stomach decrease its size dramatically. Although the lap band surgery promises extreme weight loss, other people prefer hypnotherapy weight loss. While the lap band calls for a major surgery, hypnosis, on the other hand, is non-invasive. It only requires the patient to be in deep relaxation with full concentrations for it to be effective. There are several but here are the top three reasons why people prefer hypnotherapy over surgery. 1. Hypnosis is non-invasive. Surgery involves, well, a surgery. Hypnotherapy is considered a “natural” method in the alternative medicine community as it does not involve surgeries or chemicals and the like. On the other hand, although the lap band surgery is only a little invasive, it is still considered a major surgery. The patient will have to take note of a number of precautions before the procedure. He or she should also be mindful of the pre-surgery diet and the side effects of the general anesthesia to be used during surgery. 2. The patient who undergoes the surgery is prone to complications. After the surgery, the patient will be in a delicate position. He or she will have to take extreme diet alterations as the lap band surgery will decrease his or her stomach size. If he or she consumes too much food, the band may possibly slip from the anterior part of the stomach and there will be internal issues. rnBecause hypnotherapy does not require any kind of surgery, the patient won’t have to worry about the abovementioned situations. 3. Surgery is super expensive. If the lap band slips, the patient will need to undergo another surgery. After a period of time, the patient will still need to undergo bypass surgeries for the readjustment of the lap band. In short, the lap band surgery is not a one-time only surgery. Expect multiple surgeries in the future. rngastric band surgery may be a tempting deal with its promising and fast results but people still opt to use the safer choice of the two, and the less expensive too.
