The internet affiliate marketing game can be a very competitive one, so unless you learn the real effective ways to stay on top of the internet affiliate marketing game, chances are, you’ll not make a single cent online.

One good way to do that is to source for low competition keywords so you can advertise your offer or rank your affiliate site without anybody competing with you. But if you’re not careful, you can get this step wrong.

So to keep you on the right track, try this 3 step method to source out the low competition keywords so you stay on top of the internet affiliate marketing game.

Step 1 – Find Keywords Related to Your Niche

Keywords are terms people key into the search engines to search for what they want. And usually the longer the terms, the less competition there is.

And if you remember, having less competition is what you need in order to stay on top of the internet affiliate marketing game.

Go to the Google.com keyword tool and key in your general search term that’s about 2 to 3 words long, and a list of 100 related keywords should be displayed.

You can even dig further when you discover a good keyword among the many that is returned.

Just re-enter that keyword into the tool and see what comes up. Then collect more suitable keywords that you can find.

Step 2 – Eliminate Those With Little Search Volume

Search volume is crucial in the internet affiliate marketing business, because little to no search volume reflects no demand. So we must be careful not to choose keywords with little to no search volume.

Change the Google keyword tool settings so it return you terms with more tha
1000 global searches a month. Then start by choosing your keywords from the least volume of searches to the most.

Choose as many related keywords as you can, then proceed to step 3.

Step 3 – Eliminate Those With High Competition

Enter your keywords in Google.com one by one in quotes, e.g. “Your Keyword”.

Then watch the number of searches returned. If the number of search results returned is less tha
50,000, then keep the keyword. Or else, discard it.
Rinse and repeat for all other keywords and you should end up with a list of keywords that have more tha
1000 searches and less tha
50,000 competing sites, which means enough demand, yet easy to rank for at the same time.
Rinse and repeat the above 3 steps as you see fit so you stay on top of the internet affiliate marketing game and not lose out.
