Article Marketing has been promoted as one of the key online business building strategies for years, yet very few people have been successful with it. I think the main reasons people fail with it is because they perceive it as being a lot of work, and they don't see results quick enough. Two good reasons to not bother with it.

But here are three great article marketing strategies that will leverage your article (less work!) and get you quicker results:

1. Instead of blasting your article to hundreds of mediocre directories, only submit to the top few directories, then "re-purpose" the content in social networks like Hubpages and Squidoo. That way you are getting more bang for your buck. You create the article once, but transform it into social content that can get you more natural traffic as well as links back to your site.

2. Make a video of it! You can either record yourself giving the content, or make a simple powerpoint presentation and read your article as you record the slides. Once your article has been converted to video, you can distribute it free using a service like Tube Mogul.

3. Blog it! Make a shorter version of your article and post it to a blog. If you are submitting content regularly, your blog will get natural traffic, and you can promote your blog to your subscribers as well, giving them new, fresh, relevant information in a bite-sized format, and keeping them in your marketing world. You can also promote each blog entry in the social networks.

When you leverage your articles through these three methods, the "work" part becomes a lot easier because one article can be leveraged many times, bringing you not only direct traffic, but links, credibility, fresh promotion and exposure, and new joint venture opportunities.

So if you've given up on article marketing because it's too much work, or you haven't seen results from it, get back at it! Make your articles short, interesting, and specific, and leverage them over as many platforms as possible, and you'll see fantastic results very quickly!
