Alright, so something happened and now you find yourself alone again. If you are feeling lost and lonely, you likely want to know how to survive a breakup. It is typical for you to feel depressed and hurt after a breakup. It might sound trite, but it will take time to come back from the breakup. However there are a few tricks you can use to help yourself speed up the recovery time.

First, come to terms with the thought that the relationship is over. This important revelation will help you start the recovery process. It doesn't have to be over permanently, but at least for now come to terms with the fact that it has ended for now. This will keep you from harassing your ex with phone calls, e-mails, text messages, or even stalking them. This kind of stuff only pushes your ex further away from you. You two both need to take some time away from the relationship to reevaluate things. So cut all contact with your ex for now and focus on yourself. This is an important phase in surviving a breakup and getting your feelings under control.

Second, allow yourself mou
the loss of your relationship. People often feel sad when they lose someone or something close or special to them. So set aside the time to allow all the emotions you are experiencing run their course. Some people will advise you to jump directly into a new relationship. This isn't going a very good plan though. Rebound relationships don't usually last long term. It isn't fair to expect someone new to take on the burden of helping you move on and work through all your feelings for your ex. Learn to feel complete as your own individual and move past your previous relationship . Then when you feel that you are comfortable, you can start seeing new people again. It is very important that you get closure on all the issues from your last relationship and reestablish your unique identity as a way of getting past a breakup.

Third, keep yourself active. Try to find time for getting yourself out of the house. Spend time with your friends, learn some new skills, or take a course or two at a community college. These types of things will help keep you from getting depressed and moping around the house too much. You should also try to get out of the trap of doing solely "couple activities" and start experimenting with new things that interest you. Making new friends and picking up new hobbies is a fun way to better your life. These hobbies will make you a very interesting and alluring person down the road. In order to deal with a breakup well, you should keep yourself busy. This will keep you from thinking too much about your relationship and you'll also be improving yourself at the same time.

Breakups are not an enjoyable experience. But these three tips will help you manage the pain a lot better. It will likely be challenging to get started with all this at first, but keep with it and don't give up hope. Eventually you'll find your stride and things will come much more readily. Trust me, I've done all of this. You can do this and live a better life because of it.
