4 Outdoor Activities to Try with Friends This Summer

Summertime brings all of us the excitement of getting outside and doing something fun during the long days and warm weather. However, if you’re like most people, you and your group of friends probably tend to do the same activities year after year. Trying something new with your friends is a great way to get out of your shell and to learn new things about each other. It’s also a way to bond you all with a fun group experience. If you’re fed up with your typical summer routine, here are four new activities you can try out with your group of friends.

Run a Race

The summer months bring tons of races that can allow you to spend time together by going on training runs. Relax! This doesn’t mean that you and your friends need to become marathon runners (unless that’s your gig). There are a great deal of 5Ks and half marathons out there that will allow you and your friends to bond, get active and generally the runs support great causes. “Fun runs” such as mud runs and color runs have also become really trendy.

Volunteer

This is a great way to have fun with your friends and give back to your community. You simply pick an outdoor non-profit or cause that you and your friends would like to support and come up with various times throughout the summer that you can devote some of your time to volunteer work. As an added benefit, giving back feels great!

Get out on the Water

The key word in this one is “out.” Choose a water-related activity that you and your group can do as a group. Depending on your adventure level this could be something relaxing like renting kayaks, or you could ramp things up and go on a white water rafting adventure.

Learn to Shoot

Learning to shoot is an excellent skill because it requires focus and mastery of a complex skill. If you choose to do this as a group, make sure you find a licensed shooting range. Guns are available for any level of experience and comfortability level. Once you and your friends are certified, many licensed dealers will be able to provide you with anything from a small handgun to ar-15 rifles online. These are just a few of the many activities that you and your friends can do to spice up your summer routine.
