There are some occasions when it's the right move to date your ex after a breakup. But, how do you know when it's the right move to make? Obviously, this isn't the right choice for all relationships. Some are just not meant to be. That doesn't mean that yours, with a little work from both of you, could not be salvaged and even work out to be something truly amazing before all is said and done.

What are a few good reasons to consider dating your ex after a breakup?

1) Your breakup was done in the heat of the moment and not something that was building up over a very long period of time. Not all breakups are the result of some deep seated problem in the relationship. Some of them are done in the heat of the moment and in a complete response to the immediate situations. When cooler heads prevail both parties realize that this was not the desired outcome. The problem is you don't always know the best path to getting back together. When you couple that with pride getting in the way it may take a while to work things out and get back together. Let's hope it isn't too late for the two of you.

2) The root of the problem between the two of you has been corrected. Sometimes the heart of the problem is a certain friend, a job, a relative, or even a behavior that causes tension. Once that is removed you can work towards a happy reunion. There's really no point in even attempting to get back together and give it another try until the problem has been addressed and corrected or eliminated.

3) You've both realized that you can't imagine living the rest of your lives without the other person in them. This is more common in established or long-term relationships than those that have been dating for six months or less. The longer you were together the more likely your lives are to be completely intertwined. You've made plans for the future and shared dreams. When you reach the points that you just cannot imagine facing a future without your ex in it it's time to consider dating your ex again.

4) You've never stopped loving your ex. If you've tried to move on and found that you just can't fill the void in your life that your ex left behind maybe it's a really good idea to fill that void with your ex. Sometimes your ex really is the right person for you. You just need to find a way to make it work.
