When Sunday morning comes, I don't feel like going to church. But I go only because I remember a verse in Hebrews which says that we should not give up the habit of meeting each other.
I feel that going to church does not help me in any way because:
1. The pastor preaches boring sermonsr
Personally he is a nice man - very humble and warm. It is only because of the warmth of this one man that I go to church. But I find it very difficult to sit through his 45 mins long sermons without my mind wandering. I respect him because of his age so I don't want to take him aside after church to tell him that he needs to spend some more time during the week to prepare his sermons and that he needs to use humour as he may take it badly.
I feel that if I sit at home I can learn more from God's word by reading an article on a Christian website or by studying the Bible on my own.

2. The sisters dress provocativelyr
While standing and singing hymns I find it difficult to concentrate on God while staring at their sexy bums. I can't look into the hymn book as I know all the old hymns by heart as I've sung them all a hundred times ever since I was a kid.

3. No one wants to fellowship with mer
Someone told me that the main purpose of going to church is to fellowship with other disciples. Once the service ends, if I stand in a corner, (besides the pastor) no one comes to shake hands with me. I have to go and shake hands. When I say a "Praise the Lord" and look into their eyes I don't feel that they are happy to see me. This may be because they are from another region of my country and they feel that I am not one of them (I am the only Goan in the church. All the others belong to one particular region).
Can't I change the church and go to another one? I'm not a kangaroo to hop from one place to another.

4. I can't share my prayer requestsr
The Bible says that we need to pray for one another. I can share my prayer requests by standing up when the emcee asks if anybody has any prayer requests but I can't as I feel that whoever is told to pray for me will pray out of compulsion and not out of genuine love or concern. So I talk to God alone and because He has answered my prayers over the years, I've come to the conclusion that the prayers of other people aren't really necessary for me. God's will will come to pass whether people pray or don't. If I decide to sin, the prayers of other people aren't going to stop me from sinning. It is my decision not to sin out of love for God that will stop me. If I am sick, God will heal me if it is His will and not because other people pray for me or because I pray for myself. I would have loved to go to church if there were people who prayed for me in a genuine manner. Even if it didn't heal my fever quickly, it would make me feel good knowing that someone cared for me.
