There is a right way to invite clients to buy from you with social media and there is a wrog way. Actually, there is a third option – there is a very wrong way to sell. For example, if you facebook someone with an offer more than once, then when they unlike your fan page, you start facebooking them from another user account and continue to be persistent with getting them to buy. So how do you do it the right way? Answer those 5 questions:

1. Who are you?
Can you answer this question for your business? It is key to know and communicate to the world why you are different from all the others who are in your exact niche and who are competing with you for the attention of the clients. I’m seeing so many starting up businesses who are like somebody else and unfortunately this doesn’t make them look memorable. And if the customer can’t remember them, at the end of the day – they won’t waste a second to come back to them. Be different, be yourself and show it.

2. What do you want me to do?
The difficult part is not to get someone to go to your page. The difficult part is to make them read it. How many times we assume that when we write something, people will read it – all of it? Honestly, do You do that? (Don’t answer if you’re a copywriter) Because most clients just browse over what you wrote and read only what interests them. The trick with selling from your web page with social media is: to write as you speak, easy, naturally.

3. Will I get what I pay for?
This is a pretty valid concern. Just the other week I bought a wordpress plugin from a guy who was honest that the plug in is not ready for sale to the general public. Since I had bought plugins like this before and they need fixing but in the end – they do they work I bought them to do and I’m happy. Well, this guy missed to tell me that his pluging works perfectly on the demo that he created but when it doesn’t work at all on my website he will dissapear. I am a Pro buyer and yet I still get badly surprised sometimes. Now imagine the newbie. How will they know that they will get everything as described?

4. Can you help me?
The rules of thumb that circle around the internet are: Be sharing of your exoertise 90% of the time and make a sales pitch only 5 to 10% of the time. I LOVE formulas but this one leaves out something KEY about how to sign up people with you and selling them your programs. Can you guess? They look for answers, they want to have summarized information, they want to follow a role model, etc. But above all, they want to be helped. So, before your share your relationship building content or sales content ask yourself of your content has a clear mission to help your prospect get helped.
