“4 Spiritual Practices Guaranteed to Dissolve Away Fear”
Right now it seems that there are so many people who are fearful. So fearful that many health challenges caused by fear. So what can we do to eliminate fear and create peace? Here are a few spiritual practices that anyone can do to overcome fear… and they really do work.
Fear is a normal reaction to a challenge us such as a lion chasing us, and thus we climb a tree and get away and fear resides. But in this day and age fear is not something that’s really present in our lives. Our fear is just a thought that something that might happen. So it’s like having a imaginary lion chasing us all the time and there are no trees to climb. This creates all kinds of spiritual and bodily challenges. But here are some simple spiritual practices that are guarantee to heal fear.
Taking Time for Prayer - Prayer is amazing when it comes to overcoming fear. And sometimes there is nothing we can do about the cause of fear. And because we don’t have control over the situation it’s important that we give up the challenge to our Higher Power, God, the Universe, and the One and Only. To pray and talk to God creates great peace, and when we have fear peace is exactly what we need. So taking the time everyday to pray for 15 to 20 minutes twice a day can make all the difference in the world when it comes to fear.
Taking a Few Minutes for Meditation - Our fight or flight response is stuck on overdrive when we have fear. And one of the most effective ways of healing fear is through the use of meditation. In studies with all the men and women coming back from war meditation has been shown to heal fear. Some of these soldiers come back have seen things that no one should see, and because of that anxiety sets in… and thus their whole life disintegrates. In fact my sister-in-law is a psychologist for the army and they have found that the only thing that works for these people is meditation. Not even medications or talk therapy work as well as meditation for people coming back from war. It easies their mind, they start to feel happy again, they can finally smile, and life is worth living. It seems that meditation actually rewires the brain and creates happiness in some way.
So taking the time to meditate for at least 30 to 45 minutes in the morning and the same amount of time in the evening can and will dissolve away fear.
Silently Saying the Name of God - Our mind can easily work itself into a state of anxiety if left unattended. We usually have lots of time where random thoughts come zipping through our head. And those random thoughts are the ones that creates anxiety. But if we create a ritual of saying a mantra of God’s name, then all that anxiety starts to fade away.
Saying a personal name of God over and over again thousands of times each day silently is powerful. Using a name like Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, or something else, something other than just the word God. The name of God is powerful for getting rid of fear, and it should be said whenever the mind is not being used for some specific task. If a person is busy at work thinking about the task, then random thoughts don’t make their way into the mind. It’s only when we are finished working that we have those unconscious and conscious thoughts start to wash through our mind. Saying the name of God for at least 6 to 8 months will change life forever.
In fact I’ve had many people with fear start silently saying the name of God over and over again, and within no time at all… they where happy and peaceful—it’s amazing!
Sing a Song of Gratitude Twice a Day- Having gratitude for everything in life is powerful, it actually makes a shift in our brain towards happiness. And singing a song of gratitude daily about all the small things that happen which are wonderful, helps train the mind to focus on the good instead of focusing on the bad. And most of us have a huge habit of focusing on the negative aspects of life. So singing a little song of gratitude to God, the Universe, and the One and Only can retrain our brain. I remember being in Costa Rica and the gardener taking care of the garden around the cabins would sing a song of gratitude to God. And I have to say that he was one of the happiest and friendly people I have ever met. It all goes to show that singing a little song of gratitude can do wonders for getting rid of fear. So sing a song of gratitude every morning and every evening and happiness will filter in.
These are positive habits that are important to incorporate into our life.
Many Blessings to Everyone!
